First and foremost, measure EVERYTHING about your current lampshade and the lamp itself. Sockets and all. If you bought a multi 5 headed Medusa style lamp from any popular retailers like I did, these shades are likely much smaller than what came with them. It is very hard to find exact replacements for those that perfectly fit the sockets and bulbs and all. These are smaller but they allow more light in the room than the previous stock shades which is why I like them better. They do poke out a but I'm not staring at the bulbs and they're doing their jobs great. No melting or overheating so far. I can touch the shade no problem even though it's very close to the bulb (this will vary by your bulb and lamp too). I like the look, they are much less bulky, and the color is great for my 5000k 1500Lm CRI(Ra) 85 220° bulbs. The size shocked me at first because it's hard to measure something and then compare it with only photos and listed size vs having both in front of you, but this is a great value for the money for what II wanted/needed.
